Best Age for Treatment

The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that age seven is a good time for the first visit to an orthodontist, or earlier if a problem is noticed by either the parents or the family dentist.

Most orthodontic problems are inherited, and therefore cannot be prevented. However, early diagnosis and treatment by Dr. Lenz can frequently guide facial development and tooth eruption, and thereby prevent more serious problems from occurring.

Treating children during their growth stages allows Dr. Lenz to achieve results that may not be possible once facial bones have fully developed. This early treatment can simplify or eliminate additional treatment for the child.
